 Calculation of Simple Interest and Compound Interest As the major activities of a bank are accepting deposits and giving loans, Depositors require monetary compensation for partingwith their moneybywayof deposits with the bank. ‘Interest’ is the incentive or reward paid to the depositors for postponing their other expenditures and keeping the money with the bank.
